Lisa Hill – Red-bellied Woodpecker
Even though its red belly is barely visible, this bird sports a jaunty red cap and the powerful, nearly indestructible beak of all woodpeckers. Sturdy enough to hammer out holes in tree trunks, yet when wielded with finesse, it can delicately extricate tiny insects from a variety of flowers.
Original watercolor is 10x8, mounted on Claybord with a ¾” natural wood cradle, sealed with acrylic gel medium, no frame or glass necessary.
