I could not, for the life of me, untangle those darn springs, so I stuck them in a metal cup and with a fused glass face--meticulously formed in a torch and a kiln--a messy-haired musician with aplomb and a shabby dignity emerged. The cello, or is that a viola, is torch-cut out of the metal shelf I got at a garage sale that then became the cathedral behind the player in this fugue, standing in flood waters, resilience born from the love of playing music. 36" x 18".
